Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey! We are so happy to have you and your classmates on board with us. I'm looking forward to reading your blogs taking us through your journey to Australia.
My name is Dan, and I'm working alongside Rachel and Mark over the summer. I'm lucky enough to be able to read your blogs and I'll be leaving comments as I go. If you want to reply to my comments then please do! I'd love to know what you think, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask away.
Good effort completing the first activity. Why did you want to visit Australia more than any of the other countries? I think Australia is a beautiful country with lots of amazing places to visit. There are a lot of similar aspects to their culture as ours here in New Zealand, so it should be a fun learning journey for you!
Australians mostly speak English in their country, but the indigenous (native) people of Australia are called Aboriginals. Did you know they have been living in Australia for over 40, 000 years? Because there are so many Aboriginal tribes in Australia, they have many different dialects (types of language) that they speak. Maybe in your travels you could find an Aboriginal tribe and learn some of their language? I hope you do, I'd love to learn some from you!
This is a good first effort from you Te Rangimarie, I hope you keep blogging about your trip to Australia. Make sure you give the other learning activities a go! Try to describe your journey using as much detail as you can, or use some pictures so we can both experience your learning journey :-)
Australia sounds like an amazing place to visit. I'm sure the weather is amazing too and that you'd have lots of fun there. What else do you like about it?
I'm Von a year 7 student from S.P.X school. That's so great to know that you are wanting to make new friends when you go Australia! But I've heard that Australia is quite a hot country to live in. Fantastic Job for completing this task and Keep up the great blogging!
Kia ora Te Rangimarie,
